Teaching Using Cellphones
There is an easy way to make students use their cellphones smartly, thus, keep them from using their cellphones for unrelated purposes. First, ask every student’s email account; a Gmail account will work, as well for the UNA’s email account. Next step is to create a Drive: this is an online tool to share any type of file you want. In order to create one, you have to sign up for your own a google account. This account will enable you to access the drive. Once in Drive, you will upload all the material you see suitable for the course. Even if you have no files, you are able to create documents and presentations right there on Drive. Now, for students to be able to access the content, you will share those files with your students’ accounts. In order to do that, you click on all your files you want, then, select the “Share” button. A window will show up, here, you will write the email addresses you collected from your students. Click on the “Done” button when you have finish, and the Drive has been created. For now on, whenever a presentation is shown on the classroom, students can access the material on the slides. This is helpful if the video beam does not expands large enough, and also, the professor can take advantage of this by asking students to read out loud, so they take part in class on a moment’s notice.
